Use the Imagery in the Way That Works for You
Every Roof Hawk survey gives you detailed 4K video and still imagery that is easy to view, download and share.
For many customers, that is enough. You can send the imagery to your existing surveyor, roofer, insurer or contractor through a simple shareable link and ask them to review the areas that matter.
Buying a property
If you already have a building surveyor, it can often make sense to share our imagery with them. They already know the property and can consider the roof alongside the rest of their RICS Home Survey Level 2 or Level 3 assessment, keeping the advice together in one place.
Planning repairs
Share the imagery with your roofer or contractors. A clear view of the same roof areas can help them understand the problem before attending and can make it easier to compare proposed repairs and quotations.
Insurance
If you need a roof survey for insurance, we can capture detailed drone imagery and arrange a written roof condition report. Insurers are increasingly asking for this, particularly for properties with flat roofs, and it gives you and your insurer a clear record of the roof’s current condition.

Roofing contractor review
Our highly experienced partner roofing contractor can review the detailed imagery and provide a written roof condition report focused on visible defects, maintenance issues and practical repair considerations.

The report is a practical assessment based on the imagery available. It does not provide a warranty or guarantee of the roof’s condition, and our partner roofing contractor does not carry professional indemnity insurance. If you require advice backed by professional indemnity insurance, we can arrange review by a chartered surveyor instead.
This is often a sensible and cost-effective option when you want a clearer understanding of the roof itself or need a written condition opinion for an insurer.
Insurance reports
A roofing contractor’s report will typically be suitable for insurance purposes. Before ordering the report, please check that your insurer is happy to accept a roofing contractor’s report.
Formal professional assessment
Chartered surveyor review
Where you need a more formal professional assessment, broader building context or advice for an important property decision, we can arrange for the imagery to be reviewed by a highly experienced chartered surveyor.

Importantly, chartered surveyors work within an established professional and regulatory framework, including professional indemnity insurance. This can provide additional reassurance where the advice is being relied on for a significant property decision or where a more formal professional assessment is required.
